The new version is equipped by an inline, four-cylinder, 2,700 cc engine with variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i) technology. This new engine is able to produce 160 horsepower (hp) at 5,200 rpm of top power and 339 Newton meter (Nm) at 3,800 rpm of maximum torque. This is the most powerful engine ever made for Kijang Innova.
It also applies catalytic converter for better emission. PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) recommends unleaded fuel for best engine performance and better fuel consumption.
So far the Kijang Innova (previous version) has come with two engine types: 2,000 cc gasoline engine with VVT-i technology and the 2,500 cc diesel engine with direct 4-stroke diesel turbo common-rail (D-4D) technology. Transmission is also available in automatic or manual option.
